Melasma
Melasma is thought to be related to the overproduction of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin, hair, and eye color. Melasma is a common skin condition characterized by the development of dark, discolored patches on the skin. It primarily affects areas of the face that are exposed to the sun, such as the cheeks, forehead, upper lip, and chin. Melasma is more common in individuals with darker skin tones, although it can affect people of all skin types.
