The external abdominal pressure causes the veins to swell. The pressure can be caused by obesity, pregnancy standing and sitting for a long period of time straining in the toilet, coughing, sneezing, vomiting and holding your breath while straining to do some physical labour.
Diet has important role in causing and preventing piles. People who consistently eat a high fiber are less likely to get piles and those who prefer diet high in processed food are to the greater risk to contact the piles.

There are several types of Piles:- Internal, External with in four different grades.
