Panchakarma is an integral part of Ayurveda and is considered a healing art that completely detoxifies and rejuvenates, and restores the body/mind/soul to balance. Panchakarma is a Sanskrit word which means five therapies. These 5 therapies are the part of treatment which cleanses the whole body. These 5 therapies are known by the names Basti, Nasya, Vamana, Virechana, and Raktamokshana.
Even though panchakarma is a body cleansing treatment, there could be some side effects which may include headaches, fatigue, and congestion. You may also feel depressed, mentally disturbed, and generally ill during the panchakarma treatment.
The five therapies in the panchakarma are meant to cleanse the body from all the toxins. The treatment also focuses on mental health. As dangerous toxins get eliminated, the chances of illness decreases. However, it is not a permanent treatment to a specific disease.
